Over 100 carnival groups qualified for provincial parade


Lubango – At least 140 carnival groups have qualified for the carnival parade in southern Huila province, whose main act takes place on 21st February, at Joao Paulo square in the city of Lubango.

 

 
The information was provided today to Angop by the assistant coordinator of the Preparatory Committee of the Provincial Carnival, Maria Marcelina Gomes, noting that the statistical data justify the numbers enrolled in the 14 municipalities of the province of Huila.

 

 
According to the official, the city of Lubango currently has 18 carnival groups, equal numbers in Matala and Chicomba, Caconda, 21, Quilengues, nine, Kuvango, eight, and Jamba Quipungo, seven, Cacula and Humpata with six, while and that Chipindo Caluquembe with five groups.
