"Banda Calypso" accused of plagiarising Angolan singer's song

 

Luanda – The popular and world prestige Brazilian music “Banda Calypso” band is being accused of having plagiarised the song “O quê é que adianta” (what for) by Angolan singer, Anselmo Ralph.


The representative of Anselmo Ralph’s record producer, Fernando Republicano, told Angop that the matter on has been going since September 2011, only detected early this year.


Fernando Republicano who would not add details, the source said that LS Republicano will only bring the Brazilian group to publicly assume that the song belongs to the Angolan singer, Anselmo Ralph, and respect the copyrights.


“At the moment we are seeking to settle the matter friendly. We expect Banda Calypso to Render unto Caesar the things which are Caesar's, and unto God the things that are God's," said Republicano.
