Ebo – The Culture Minister, Rosa Cruz e Silva, said on Wednesday in Ebo district, central Kwanza Sul province, that her ministry is working on the drafting of management plans of the existing monuments and sites in the region, taking into account the definition of access rules for their profitability.
Rosa Cruz e Silva said so to Angop at end of her visit paid to historic interest sites in the districts of Sumbe, Amboim, Ebo and Kibala.
She highlighted that the intention is aimed at turning the sites into tourist areas, so as to attract incomes for the development of the regions where these monuments are based.
During her stay in the region, the official visited the graves of chieftains in Amboim and Kibala districts and rock engravings of Ndalambiri in Ebo municipality, among others.
In Sumbe district, the minister visited Fortim and Kicombo fortress, “25 de Março” monument and Sagrada Família Church, among other sites.
On Thursday, the official checked in Cela district the functioning of the culture house, municipal and juvenile libraries, Nossa Senhora da Assunção Church.
Angop learnt that the minister also held an assessment meeting with the members of the local government before returning to Luanda.
The minister was accompanied by national directors of the sector, advisors, a delegation of Archaeology Museum, as well as senior employees of the Ministry of Culture.
