Kuito – The minister of Culture, Rosa Cruz e Silva, urged Sunday in the city of Kuito, Bié Province, the need to reduce consumption of foreign cultural products, unrelated to national identity.
Rosa Cruz e Silva made this appeal during the central act of National Culture Day, marked on Saunday.
The minister stressed that the reduction of the consumption of foreign culture products passes through elimination of asymmetries to access to national culture.
According to the minister, the social and economic aspects of the cultural sector are
increasingly important, which can be confirmed through the growing valorisation of cultural
components and the role they assume in the policies of job creation.
Another aspect with great weight in the expansion of cultural activities and encouraging the
culture, according to the minister, is the symptom of technological development that takes
place in the country in recent times, which is why one should take advantage from the benefits of the digital age, in a perspective of self-sustainability of cultural activities.
