Cartoonist defends institutional support for development of comics

Luanda – Angolan cartoonist Lindomar de Sousa defended Monday, in Luanda, the need for institutional support of Comics, in order to encourage the creativity and allow a better development of this art in the country.

According to the cartoonist, who was speaking at the eighth edition of International Comics Festival “Luanda Cartoon”, the concerned institutions of the state should help promote and encourage the artists in this field, so that there can be a national expansion of this art.

Thus, Lindomar de Sousa urged state organs, governmental departments and philanthropic institutions to support cartoon artists, and defended that this art is a vehicle of useful communication in building a society.

The eighth edition of the Comic International Festival started last Friday, in Luanda, and counts on the participation of 30 national artists and five foreigners.
