Foreign Minister receives UN Secretary General envoy


Kampala –  The Angolan Foreign Affairs Minister, George Chicoty, met on Friday in Kampala city Uganda the special envoy of UN Secretary General on Situations of Sexual Violence in Conflict Situations, Margot Wallstrom.

 

The audience, held on the fringe of the Summit of Heads of States and Government of the International Conference of Great Lakes Region, was topped by issues related to human rights in the region.

 

The meeting was attended by the Angolan Minister of Family and Women Promotion, Genoveva Lino, Vice-ministers of Defence and Interior, Gaspar Rufino and Ângelo Veiga, respectively.

 

Summit of Heads of States and Government of the International Conference of Great Lakes Region is going to end this Friday.

 

ICGLR is an inter-governmental organisation established in 2006 under the auspices of the United Nations and African Union. It groups Angola, Burundi, Central Africa Republic, DR Congo, Congo Brazzaville, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, Uganda, Tanzania and Zambia.
