Luanda
Late singers David Zé, Urbano de Castro get homage

Luanda  - The monthly live music programme dubbed “Musongué da Tradição”, last Sunday paid homage to the late singers David Zé and Urbano de Castro, at Luanda’s Kilamba Cultural and Recreational Centre.

The homage is aimed at recognising the contribution of David Zé and Urbano de Castro, who in the 1960s and 1970s gave a great contribution to Angolan nationalism and elevation of the local culture, through their music.

During the event, Gaby Moy, Legalize and António de Castro (Urbano de Castro’s son), sang old hits of the late musicians.

The cultural event also counted on the participation of renowned  singers like Samanguana, Calabeto, Dom Caetano and Banda Movimento.

To Gaby Moy, it is a pleasure to recall singers who contributed to the development of the Angolan culture.
