Robertinho praises competition among musicians

Lobito – The Angolan singer, Fernando Lucas da Silva “ Robertinho” Saturday in Lobito, central Benguela province, said the emergence of several musicians is promoting the country’s music quality and countering foreign artists.

Speaking to Angop, Robertinho said that Angolan music has experienced a twist in terms of acceptance within the national market and abroad as a result of  the competition among musicians.

According to the singer, presently music lovers prefer national products to listening to foreign music from countries such as Cape Verde, West Indies and Zaire (Republic of Congo)., much in demand during the 1970’s and 1980’s.

The author of hit “Caquinhentos” said as well that in the past music creators, only used  to emerge in cities such as Luanda, Lobito and Benguela.

Currently, is already possible to think of sponsorship since the political and economic stability in the country is impelling many entrepreneurs interested in arts to assist musicians.
