End to violence a challenge to whole society - Governor

Saurimo – The governor of the north-eastern Lunda Sul Province, Cândida Narciso, said on Wednesday in Saurimo City that the high rate of violence in Angola is a challenge for the whole society, not just for the state.

 

The governor said so during the opening of the local journalists’ workshop on “Violence in society, inform, prevent and intervene”, which was promoted by the provincial media department.

 

According to her, each Angolan may contribute to construction of a more balanced and harmonious society.

 

The official said that in nowadays’ society, the dimension of the social problems need a serious discussion of all journalists, government officials and governors.

 

To her, the right use of media organs by  journalists might promote the change to positive attitudes in human beings, obviously in the institutional relation of the state with the population.

 

The governor of Lunda Sul Province also considered the violence as a phenomenon that may be found in all societies in different ways, as well as a tough common heritage of the people in the planet.
