Luanda
Cartoonist complains about lack of support

Luanda– The strip cartoons artist, Tche Gourgel, Wednesday in Lubango, southern Huila provine, complained about the lack of support from regulatory bodies to cartoonists.

Speaking to Angop, Tche Gourgel appealed to the Ministry of Culture and other public and private institutions to help strip cartoon creators to get rid of the lethargy they are in.

“Creators of strip cartoons in Angola are not gaining a living on the art because there are no incentives, costs are high and very restricted public. There is no visibility due lack of television and radio programmes to publicise actions of cartoonists”, he said.

The cartoonist announced that a strip cartoons festival will be held this week, with the participation of colleagues from Brazil, Portugal and Chad, for an exchange of experience.
