Luanda – Banco Espírito Santo Angola (Besa) holds the third Photography competition in partnership with World Press Photo called Besafoto2010, part of Besacultura project.
The contest, according to the director of marketing and communication of Besa, Lenor Sá Machado speaking on Thursday to Angop in Luanda, is reserved to Angolans and foreigners.
The delivery period of work began on 15 July and will run until 11 October 2010, he said.
The World Press Photo (WPPH) is one of the best in the world in the area of photo-reporting and photography as art, said the source.
The competition jury will be selected by WPPH and will integrate four photographers, two Angolans and two foreigners in addition to a representative of Besa.
The jury that work on the criteria defined by World Press Photo, will award honourable mentions to 10 works. The award ceremony will be held on 15 November.
The prizes are estimated at USD 30,000, leaving USD 15,000 for the first place, USD 10,000 for the second and USD 5,000 for the third.
