Singer Zeca Moreno releases "Perfume das Acácias"

Luanda -  “Perfume das Acácias” is the title of the third music album by Angolan singer, Zeca Moreno, to be released on Sunday, at the Independence square, in Luanda, during a sale and autographs session.

Speaking to Angop, the actor of “Perfume das Acácias” said that the CD comprises 12 songs in Portuguese, umbundu and kimbundu (local languages), nine new and three new versions of old songs, with new rhythms.

“The CD is a little bit diversified, highlighting the “semba” , main Angolan music style, but there are also other styles like bolero, and traditional rhythms, mainly from  urban areas”, said Zeca Moreno.

In this music album, the singer worked together with well known Angolan artists, like Boto Trindade, Dulce Trindade, Joãozinho Morgado, Miqueias, Kintino, Nanuto and Gregório Mulato, nowadays integrating Kituxi music group.

The musician João Alexandre also made a contribution to the album, singing “Madalena” by Zeca Moreno, recorded for the first time in 1972 and recorded again six years ago under a new version.

The musician would not say the number of copies to be released, but assured that there will be enough for everyone. Fully produced in the country and edited abroad, the CD will be distributed by Xikote Produções, DJ Mania’s firm.

José (Zeca) Moreno, nowadays working as administrator of Viana district, started his music carrier in 1970 in the music group “Os Bongos do Lobito”, recording two songs, but because of some troubles faced by the country, he stopped singing for 30 years, having returned in 2004.

He released the CD “O tempo e o contexto”, in 2006, and “O meu canto”, in 2007.
