Benguela - The provincial director of Culture in central Benguela province, Cristóvão Mário Kajibanga, said Saturday, here that the role of artists is essential for the harmonisation of social relations and consolidation of democracy in the country.
Cristovão Kajibanga was speaking at the opening of the 4th General Assembly of the National Association of Artists and Composers (UNAC), on behalf of Benguela governor.
According to him, the association exists with the purpose of helping solve some problems, seeking to meet the needs of all members.
He stressed that UNAC is a social organisation that is committed to solving artists’ and their work result in a reflection of people’s experience as a contribution to education.
The General Assembly was attended by the president of the Directing Commission and that of the Table of Assembly, Arnaldo Calado and Paixão Júnior, respectively, and UNAC representatives to Benguela, Cabinda, Cunene, Luanda, Huambo, Namibe, Malange, Kuando Kubango, Lunda Sul and Zaire.
