Charity to help guitarist Duia collects USD 15. 000

Luanda – A charity to collect funds in support of Angolan guitarist Eduardo Garcia Adolfo “Duia”, promoted by the National Artists and Composers Union (UNAC), collected USD 15, 000, to be used in his treatment expenses overseas, ANGOP learnt from a source of the institution.

Belmiro Carlos, UNAC’s secretary general, stated that the institution will follow the evacuation process of the artist overseas, through National Public Health Medical Team, placing the collected amount at the disposal of Duia’s family.

Guitarrist Duia suffers from a serious illness which hinders him from walking, and to make things worse his son Pirica, also a musician, had the leg amputated after a highway accident.
