Angola/Italy
Brazilian guitarist highlights Angolans' artistic talent

Rimini – The Brazilian guitarist, Ximbinha Mamede, Sunday in Rimini (Italy), said that Angolan singers have an artistic and creative potential which places them as one of the best of Africa, therefore capable of conquering the European and American markets,
should they get incentives from cultural promoters.

Speaking to Angop, Ximbinha Mamede, who plays in the band of the Angolan singer, Yuri da Cunha, on a Europe music tour with Italian musician, Eros Ramazzotti, stressed that Angolan singers, once promoted, can do extraordinary things.

According to the musician, judging from their artistic qualities, Angolans should have scored by now higher international recognition, as it is currently happening with the singer, Yuri da Cunha.

In order for international recognition to come about, he added, promoters, businesspeople and culture agents are expected to have the courage to direct or indirectly launch the Angolan arts into the “international musical hall”.

The band of Yuri da Cunha who is touring Europe, invited by Eros Ramazzotti, expected to last two months, is appearing Monday in Rotterdam (Holland), in the second of 60 shows organised by the Italian singer.
