Angolan artist creates jewellery drawings

Luanda – The Angolan painter, Hildebrando de Melo, will design this year several drawings for Angolan gold and precious stone pieces of jewellery.

This is part of a partnership with the Portuguese jewellers, Valentim Quaresma and Paula Guerreiro.

According to Hildebrando de Melo, who was speaking to Angop, this artistic work will culminate with an exhibition in Angola in April next year.

Hildebrando de Melo (30) has attended seminars with foreign specialists in such countries as South Africa, USA and Germany.

He has run six individual painting exhibitions and participated in various collective shows in Angola, Portugal and USA.

Winner of the Ensarte/2004 prize in the youth category, sponsored by Angola’s insurance company (Ensa), Hildebrando de Melo also won the "Sona Desenhos na Areia" contest, promoted by the Norwegian oil firm, Nosk Hydro.
