Caxito– Angélica Haiamara Pedro Mateta was elected Miss Bengo for 2009, during a ceremony held Thursday in Vissapa II cultural centre in that northern province’s capital city, Caxito.

The jury, headed by the provincial director of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Augusto Manga, elected Marinela Manuel Domingos and Alcina da Silva, as the first and second runner-ups, respectively. 

During the contest, which counted on the participation of 12 candidates, Marinela Manuel Domingos and Alcina da Silva were also distinguished as miss photogenic (a voting made by journalists) and miss friendly, respectively.  

Speaking to the press at the end of the ceremony, Angélica Mateta expressed delight and revealed that she intend to undertake various social projects.
