Luanda – The Angolan minister of Culture, Roas Cruz e Silva, Tuesday in Luanda, encouraged cultural agents to combine efforts to recover and change the image of entertainment houses in the country.
Talking to Angop while presenting the second edition of Luanda Cinema International Festival (FicLuanda), taking place from November 20-27, the minister stated that united they can overcame the crisis and give another image to the sector, thus increasing the number of
viewers.
She added that with this call, she intends to rehabilitate damaged or destroyed cinemas. “Let’s combine efforts so that we have good movie houses with adequate conditions to receive viewers”, the official stressed.
Luanda International Cinema Festival is generalist, dedicated to long and short fiction movies, as well as documentaries, but hosts other types of movie.
The event is divided in competitive and non-competitive action and other parallel activities.
Other competitions: official competition of long fiction movies, short fiction movies and documentaries. The non-competition states retrospectives of authors or cinematography, honours and topics.
The main awards are being given by the judge to competition section in FICLuanda, comprising five elements that are: Award for best Fiction Movie, Award for best Short Fiction Movie, Award for best Documentary and Luanda City Award.
