Many citizens participate at 6th cartoon festival

 

Luanda – At least 800 people, among them men, women and children overcrowded Friday, Luanda “Pepetela” Auditorium, during the sixth cartoon and animation festival dubbed “Luanda-Cartoon 2009”.

 

Sponsored by the mobile phone company “Unitel”, the festival happens from 7 to 28 August, counts for the first time with 25 Angolan exhibitors, among cartoonists, painters, illustrators, as well as amateur and professional entertainers.

 

The event aims among objectives at promoting this art in Angola and stimulate upcoming new talents.

 

During the opening ceremony, cartoons by various professionals, besides autographs of magazines were displayed.

 

Titles such as Estória mal contada, Bernardino Pedroto (Horácio Gibelto), Mistério (Albino Nobre), Celmira Machado/Unitel (Olímpio and Lindomar de Sousa), Sketcbook (Tché Gourgel) and Velha Dominda, are among other attractions at the 6th cartoon festival.

 

On Tuesday (11), an exhibition is reserved for students of primary and secondary schools and colleges of Luanda, and on Friday (14), autograph, magazine, live caricature, among others will be opened.

 

The festival closes on 28 of August, with a pocket show with singers MCK, Keyta Mayanda, Leornardo Wuti Edú ZP, among other guests.

 

This event is also supported by Portugal embassy to Angola.
