Movie directors attend workshop on documentary production

Luanda – The Angolan cinematographer Marcos Pimentel, on Thursday here lectured young film directors on the story and the production process of a documentary. 


During the course on documentary production, which started Friday at Pepetela auditorium, in Camões institute, Marcos Pimental discussed issues concerning the abovementioned process, with the exhibition of previews  of the films “Nanook Of The North” (1922) by Robert Flaherty and “Drifters” by John Grierson (1933).


Designed for movie directors and actors, the workshop aims essentially at upgrading and creating an audiovisual cooperation network among the producers of the Portuguese speaking countries.


“The objective is to provide instructions to young directors from Angola, Mozambique, Portugal, Brazil and Cape Verde so that they can improve their works”, he said.


The workshop, which assembles local movie directors, will end this Friday and is part of the second Luanda international cinema festival.
