Luanda – A total of 5,000 teacher support manuals in the subjects of maths, physics, biology, chemistry and pedagogy, including computers and printers, were handed over Tuesday in Luanda to the Angolan Education Ministry (MED) by Japan’s ambassador to Angola, Ryozo Myoi.
The manuals in respect were designed by a team of 31 Angolan trainers with support of the Japan Agency ( JICA), under an accord signed between NED and the above mentioned Japanese institution in 2008, intended to reinforce teachers competences in the said subjects.
Under the accord, 31 Angolan teachers from the provinces of Luanda, Huíla, Huambo, Cabinda and Malanje attended a two-month training run from 2009 to date at the Mathematics, Science and Technology Research Centre in Kenya.
To the coordinator of the project called SMASSE, Paulino Ernesto, the training of Angolan teachers with Japan’s aid brings about results.
