Education sector absorbs over 242,000 teachers in four years

Luanda - At least 242,979 teachers were integrated until 2012 as an achievement of the education sector over the past four years in Angola.


The information was released Friday by the vice minister of Education for Social School Action, General and Special Education, Ana Paula Inês, while speaking to Angop on the gains of the sector in the last four years.


Ana Paula Inês said that the number of teachers in primary education increased from 106,940 (2008), to 139.159 teachers (2012), while in the first cycle went from 52,077 to 71,415 this year.


In second cycle increased from 26, 202 to 35, 404 teachers in 2012, making a total of  242, 979 teachers.
