Luanda – The Secretary of State for Higher Education, Adão do Nascimento, said on Wednesday in Luanda said that the great challenges of the sector go through the consolidation of strategic vision of committed cadres with quality, the care with the professor’s posture in the sector and examples of reference and assessment.
The official said so while addressing the roundtable on “The state of higher education in Angola. University Management: challenges and perspectives” in the first national conference of the sector that happened on 2-4 July in Luanda.
“In five items that I suggest that the main challenges of the higher education in Angola should firstly go through the consolidation of the strategic vision of the teaching so that it may be a factor for the development of the country”, said the secretary.
According to him, this vision should take in account the ambitions, conquests, history and ideology of the country comprised by the strategic vision of a sector that must be in line with the national development plan.
The structuring of the strategic vision goes through an academic operation, which is the conceptualization that can create a historical framework will all vision, perspective and critical analysis, showing the importance of this vision.
The roundtable was witnessed by the Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Maria Cândida Teixeira, Angolan president’s secretary for social affairs, Rosa Pacavira, MPs, chancellors of various universities, diplomats, academicians and students, among other individualities.
