Education minister highlights children' school performance


 

Luanda - Angolan Education minister Pinda Simão said Thursday in Luanda that the continuous growth in school performance is accounted for the ongoing reforms in the sector.


The Education minister said so to Angop at the end of the inauguration by president José Eduardo dos Santos of a school complex in Cazenga municipality.


Comparing to the past, Pinda Simão said, the current performance of students across the country  records satisfactory levels.


"A reform in the country’s education system is underway and the results are encouraging," he stressed.


As for the quality of education in the country, the minister said it is going smoothly, quotingthe emergence of new teaching infrastructures and upgrading courses for new teachers.


With a capacity to benefit 1,720 students, the freshly inaugurated school complex comprises 15 classrooms, a laboratory, computers room and games court.


Accompanied by the vice president, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos, the head of State also inaugurated a municipal hospital in Madeira ward, Cazenga district.


In addition to Cazenga,  the president also inaugurated hospitals Cacuaco and Viana.
