Ondjiva – At least 1,300 students with special education needs will be attending the Special Education School in Ondjiva city, southern Cunene province, this academic year, Angop learned.
The information was released by the institution’s director, Ana Bela Miguel, who said there has been an increase of 110 students as compared with the 2011 school year.
Among the students enrolled, 230 have hearing problems, 315 with intellectual disabilities, 671 with learning difficulties, 74 with physical/motor deficiencies and 10 with visual deficiencies.
The special school of Ondjiva has been in functions since 2004 and has 11 teachers distributed to the districts of Namacunde, Ombadja and Kwanhama.
