Ndalatando
Executive works for better education system

Ndalatando - The Angolan government has been seeking better solutions to achieve more efficient standards of teaching and learning, meant to improve public education in the country, on Tuesday said the Vice President of the Republic, Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos.

The official said so at the inaugural ceremony of the 2012 academic year, in  Ndalatando City, northern Kwanza-Norte Province.

According to him, despite the work that is still to be done, the education sector has had positive results, if we take into account its historic evolution.

The Vice President reminded that in 1974 were enlisted in Angola about 500.000 students, in 1989 the figure was 1.800.000 and in 2011 the sector recorded 6.4 million students, as well as the number of teachers moved from just over 25.000, in 1977, to about 200,000 last year.

Fernando da Piedade Dias dos Santos explained that this is due to the investments made in the sector.

The Vice President also said that teaching quality depends on the good management of schools. He said schools boards should pay attention to the necessity for better organisation and management of the administrative and financial services of their institutions.
