Angola
Government committed to improving education quality

Luanda – Angolan Government has designed programmes to improve the quality of higher education in the country with a view to matching it with that of  universities of prestige in Africa and world.

This was said Sunday in Luanda by the secretary of State for Higher Education, Adão do Nascimento.

The official was speaking at the 7th edition of the State-run “Televisão Publica de Angola” call-in programme “Espaço Publico”, representing the minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Cândida Teixeira.

Adão do Nascimento explained that to this end, the Higher Education Evaluation and Crediting Institute will conduct an assessment of the quality of education in universities of the country.

He said the institute is currently going through a process of organisation to conduct the survey.

The secretary of State explained that poor ranking of Angola’s universities is owed to the fact that the country is often absent from meetings where the matter is discussed and there is insufficient information.
