Unaca distributes farming tools in Bengo

 

Caxito - At least 42,515 working tools and 2,564 tones of fertilizers have been distributed since 2005 to the associations of peasants and agro-farming cooperatives of the eight districts of northern Bengo province.

 


According to a report delivered Monday to Angop, in Caxito city, the materials were jointly distributed by Provincial Federation of Peasants and Cooperative of Bengo (Unaca) and Agrarian Development Institute.

 


During the 2008/2009 agriculture campaign, the local associative and cooperative movement received 15 tractors and two vehicles to support the associations and cooperatives of the districts of Ambriz, Bula Atumba, Dande, Icolo e Bengo, Nambuangongo, Pango Aluquém and Dembos.

 


Unaca also offered 40 zinc sheets, 300 bags to keep coffee produced by the farmers of Dande and Nambuangongo districts.

 


During the referred period Unaca also ran 192 upgrading seminars on organisation, management, assessment and statistics of production.
