Luanda – The acting principal of the Agostinho Neto University (UAN), Suzanete Costa, urged Friday in Luanda, the Angolan university community to reflect on higher education, aiming at solving the country’s socio-economic problems.
The acting principal, who was speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2010 academic year of university subsystem, acknowledged that the country faces several problems, and therefore the role of higher education for the development of the country is crucial.
According to Suzanete Costa, it is for the faculty to be aware of such laws and regulations on the activities of teaching and education institutions in the concepts of management as well as technical and teaching aspects.
In her turn, the president of Angola Higher Education Students (UEESA), Yolanda de Sousa said that the conditions are still poor at the academic-level, laboratories, libraries, bibliography and difficulty in accessing to the Internet.
