Benguela – A total of 989 candidates, of the 7,538 registered for the 2010 academic year at Katyavala Bwila University (UKB), in central Benguela province, have been admitted, after they sat and passed the tests in February this year.
This was announced Wednesday in Benguela by UKB chancellor, Paulo de Carvalho.
Speaking at a press conference, the official explained that the number of passed students will join another 45 in the course of Medicine, with the list awaiting publication soon.
According to Paulo de Carvalho, as soon as the results are released, UKB will admit 1,030 candidates for the 13 courses offered for the 2010 academic year.
However, the official said the number of admitted students might grow considerably, as a process of analysis of complaints and revision is underway.
The UKB that covers the country’s central provinces of Benguela and Kwanza Sul, and offers programmes of Medicine, Law, Economics, Psychology, Pedagogy, Special Education, History, Mathematics, Geography, Portuguese, French and English Linguistics and Computers.
The press conference was attended by UKB deputy chancellor, Manuel Bandeira, the deans of Benguela Higher Institute of Education Sciences and of Lobito Higher Polytechnic Institute, of the Faculty of Medicine and the deputy deans of the Faculties of Economics, Law and the tests committee presiding judges.
