Father should be centre of family - Minister

Luanda, - Angola's minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology, Cândida Teixeira, Friday in Luanda, said father should be the centre of the family and an example in general, Angop learnt.

Speaking on the occasion of the celebrations of the World Father Day, March 19, the minister  told Angop the word (father) has a strong meaning, that also represents a great responsibility  in the education of children in the home.

Cãndida Teixiera said that for people like her, that have lost their father in  childhood, this figure, that is the centre of the family, is much valorised.

On the other hand, she advised fathers to be loving and attentive to their families, taking in fact  the role reserved to them.

The World Father Day was commemorated for the first time, in an institutionalised way in 2009, under the motto “Dad, play your role, take your responsibilities towards us (children) and family”.
