Luanda – The electronic governance secures the universal access of citizens to information and improves the performance of education, science and technology, health, culture and its general activity.
This was said Wednesday in Luanda by the deputy minister of Education for Techno-professional Training, Narciso dos Santos Benedito.
The official was speaking at the opening of the seminar on “Electronic governance tools” directed to developing countries, jointly sponsored by the National Commission for Unesco, Windhoek-based Unesco regional bureau and the National School of Public Administration.
According to Narciso Benedito, this type of governance also aims at the creation of an electronic network intended to increase the efficacy and efficiency of the State institutions, thus contributing to the reduction of operation costs and improved services rendered to the public.
The Angolan government has been planning and applying significant policies in the field of electronic governance, substantiated in the various plans of action on the electronic government and the information society, which led to the Government portal and the portals of the various organs comprising it.
According to the deputy minister, the new communication and information technologies have been producing changes in the way people and organisms relate, either in the transmission of information, management of administration and systems, sales and purchase of goods and
services, transmission and reception of instruction as well as exchange of ideas and knowledge.
