Luanda – Geologist and university lecturer, Hélder André de Sousa, encouraged Tuesday in Luanda, geographers, geophysicists, architects and civil construction engineers to work together, with the objective of avoiding erosions caused by water from the rain in the capital city.
Hélder de Sousa made this appeal while presenting the topic “Luanda: rain, drainage, solid waste and the territory”, at the First National Conference on Science Technology, under the theme “The role of science and technology in social, economic and sustainable development of Angola.
He informed also that effects of the water action in the country are negative, with higher occurrence in Luanda, due to water permanence on the ground, because the higher is stagnation on the ground the higher is erosion.
For him, erosion is due to lack of study made in construction areas with waste deposited at improper places, thus resulting in blockage of sewage systems.
