Luanda – The vice chancellor for academic issues of the State-run Agostinho Neto University (UAN), Suzaneth Costa, said Thursday in Luanda that the syllabuses of the medicine faculty are adjusted to the country’s reality, seeking to equip trained physicians with the skills to meet the demands.
Speaking to Angop, Suzaneth Costa said that the number of physicians available is still insufficient to cover the country’s needs, adding that her department is insisting on the need for the graduates to have the general stills to perform their duties.
“Physicians in Angola are expected to know how to deal with obstetrician, genecology, psychiatry, paediatrics and other specialities, so that they can deepen their specialised knowledge”, said the official.
