Luanda– The Angolan mobile-phone operator Unitel plans to expand its services until the end of the current year to 150 districts of the country (almost 90 per cent of national territory).
The company intends also to improve the quality and to increase the capacity of the existing network, revealed Tuesday in Luanda its deputy general director, Amílcar Safeca.
Speaking to Angop regarding to the world telecommunications’ day, marked on May 17, the official said the plan integrates actions inserted on company's programme for this year, as a way to promote the expansion of its services countrywide.
Additionally, he added, Unitel plans to reinforce its internet services at higher extension, already available respectively in the provinces of Luanda, Huambo and Huila, and it also aims at reaching more capitals of the provinces and therefore grant the customers ease accessibility.
He emphasised that Unitel is the first Angolan mobile operator which reached five millions customers, but Angolan market is still liable to grow more, and the goal is to reach at least 7.3 million people.
Unitel operates already in 110 districts as well as in some villages of the country, and intends to expand its services until the end of this year to 150 districts, reaching a great part of the Angolan territory.
