Angola: Sabmiller proposes measures to decongestion Luanda Harbour  

Luanda - The general director of Company Sabmiller/Angola, Samuel Jerónimo, suggested on Thursday greater effectiveness from staff of Luanda Port and the creation of work shift at the weekends in order to diminish the difficulties registered by entrepreneurs and port workers.  

 

Speaking to Angop on the constraints registered by the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in 2008, where it made a total investment of USD 150 million, the official indicated these factors and the construction of a new port (a solution to be executed by the Government on a short term, in Barra do Dande) as provisions for the improvement of the harbour activity.      

 


Samuel Jerónimo, who is also the general director of the North American Company in southern zone (Huila, Namibe, and Kuando Kubango) considered important the creation of methods to encourage the work at the weekends, in order to unblock areas where are loading and unloading goods which will allow the businessmen and the State make the maximum use of port services.   


Coca–Cola Bottling invested in 2008 in Angola USD 150 million for the construction of two new factories, acquisition of boxes USD 30 million and other equipment USD 20 million.
