Luanda, – A delegation of Portuguese investors was received on Friday afternoon, in Luanda, by the Industry vice minister, Kiala Gabriel, in the framework of a prospecting visit that the entrepreneurs are carrying out to Angola.
At the meeting, the Portuguese team expressed their interest in investing in the country, preferably in the field of agro-industry, construction materials, ornamental stones and metal.
Kiala Gabriel said that the meeting served to let the delegation know about some of the aspects of the executive programme of the sector, whose implementation is already taking place, which mainly focuses on the industries of construction material, foodstuff, wood, fishing and electric equipment.
He said the purpose of this programme is to give the country infrastructure capable of meeting the demands caused by the diversification of national production, with the aim of making Angola an exporting country.
The head of the Portuguese team, Carlos de Sousa, said that the historic ties between the two countries, inspired their interest in finding business and investments opportunities in Angola.
The delegation has already visited the southern Huíla Province.
The Portuguese team, who arrived in the country last Monday, already held a meeting with officials from the Ministries of Trade, Industry and the National Private Investment Agency.
