Luanda, – Angolan ambassador to China, João Bernardo, said Sunday in Luanda, that the visit of the Chinese Commerce minister to Angola shows the interest in the bilateral cooperation existing between both nations, with mutually advantageous indicators.
The diplomat was speaking to Angop, on the fringes of the audience Angolan prime minister, António Paulo Kassoma, granted to the Chinese Commerce minister, Chen Deminz, who arrived in Luanda on Saturday for a two days visit.
The ambassador underlined that the visit of the Chinese Government official who responds for cooperation, a month after the visit of Angolan president, José Eduardo dos Santos, to that Asian country, is a very positive sign.
The relations between the two countries are an example of cooperation with mutual advantages, said João Bernardo, adding that this shows that Angola has been honouring its commitments and has been a good partner to China.
João Bernardo said that China has expressed its readiness to continue financing the national reconstruction programme and areas of the light industry, agriculture, education, health and telecommunications.
The Angolan ambassador highlighted that the beginning of air connections between Angola and China will be an incentive to cooperation, including with other Asian countries.
The Chinese Commerce minister also recalled that trade between the two countries last year was of Usd 25.3 billion, with highlight going to Angola’s exports estimated at Usd 22.3 billion, making of Angola the greatest partner for China in Africa.
