Luena, – The provincial management of Agriculture and Rural Development in eastern Moxico province has already identified the potential areas for development, soon, of agro-farming activity, part of the diversification of the national economy, Angop learnt from an official source.
The project director, Antonio da Silva, affirmed that from over one million hectares of arable land that the province has, the sector will prioritise Luxia Agro-farming zone.
Apart from this, he added that the project intends also to relaunch the areas that has been developed agro-farming activity, after the independence of Angola, in 1975.
Among the various areas, he highlighted rice production zone of Tchindungo and Tchilenguelo (Cameia), of Léua, Kamaiangala (Kamanongue), Mucussuije, Calubambo and Cavungo (Alto-Zambeze).
For the success of the activity, part of the strategy of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, aiming at establishing public strategies, the provincial director said that it is expected the intervention of the private sector to invest in the production of crop adaptable to the respective farming zones.
