SONANGOL considered second major African company

 

Paris - The Angolan Oil Company (SONANGOL) was considered the second greatest firm of Africa, according to a study disclosed last weekend in Paris by the Jeune Afrique magazine.

 
The study evaluated about 500 African companies based in Africa and for the second consecutive year, SONANGOL occupy the same position behind the Algerian Oil Company of Sonatrach.


According to the study, these two companies presented very solid outcomes that enable them to be part of the 500 major firms in the world and their status is not more consolidate due to the fact they are not rated in the stock markets


Besides SONANGOL, other Angolan companies (or companies operarting in the country) also include the referred study, namely Total E&P Angola in 50th position, Endiama in 128th place and Catoca Mining Corporate in 227th position.
