Official hails rice production importance

Kuito - The deputy governor of Bié province for economic affairs, Ana Maria Muvuay, on Thursday here highlighted the rice production importance in the region, as an important factor for the local development, Angop has learnt.

 

After the launching of the seeds, under the pilot programme of rice planting transplant, in Jimba Silili locality, she praised the initiative of the Angolan Executive in choosing Huambo and Bié provinces as local of experience.

 

She said that through this project Bié province will be at the limelight of the social and economic development of the country, taking into account the results of the harvests that will be taken all over the country.

 

Some equipment is expected in the province for rice peeling, adds the source.
