Luanda – The secretary general of the Angolan trade union UNTA-CS, Manuel Augusto Viage, Tuesday in Luanda considered important the first international meeting of the trade unions of the financial sector of the Portuguese Speaking Community (CPLP), saying it enabled a professional exchange among participants.

Closing the meeting, Manuel Viage stressed that the event served to strengthen the ties among attending trade unions and deepen the knowledge of the international system and the problematic of the sale of financial products.

He said the principles of solidarity, unity and duty must not be ignored at a meeting of unionists, as more and more states adopt bailout measures for their public policies.

The first international meeting of unionists of the financial sector sponsored by the National Trade Union of Angolan Banks (SNEBA) was attended by representatives from Brazil, Portugal, Mozambique and São Tomé and Príncipe.

It was also attended by a representative of “Uni Finanças” under the UNI GLOBAL – a union organisation based in Geneva, Switzerland, grouping 900 unions and more than 20 million members.
