Lubango – The Angolan minister of Agriculture Rural Development and Fisheries, Afonso Pedro Canga, will inaugurated Wednesday in Lubango, southern Huila province, the 9th edition of the Agro-Farming Fair, as part of the celebrations of the “Nossa Senhora do Monte” feast.
The four-day event will take place under the aegis of the Southern Angola Cattle Breeders Cooperative (CCGSA) and will serve for associate farmers to present their best breeds.
CCGSA director general, Álvaro Fernandes, told Angop the animals will be showed in a competition.
He said at least 25 breeders are expected to participate and sell more than 350 animals.
Meanwhile, Huila province governor, Isasc dos Anjos, will open the fourth technical cattle breeding events that will count the participation of the Tchivinguiro Medium Agrarian Institute.
The fair’s programme includes talks on animal production, genetics and breed improvement, artificial insemination, impact of transfer of embryos and bovine cattle diseases.
The official stated as well the event will also serve for a display of ploughing equipment, fertilizers and other products used in the agricultural sector.
CCGSA was established in 2004 with 50 members.
