Angola and Congo Brazzaville sign accord on oil exploration


Luanda – The Minister of Petroleum, Botelho de Vasconcelos, left for this Friday for the Republic of Congo Brazzaville, to sign an accord on oil exploration  in common interest between both countries.

 


Speaking to Angop at Luanda’s “4 de Fevereiro” International Airport, the official said that the accord results from the sequence of negotiations between the authorities of the two countries in the last 10 years.

 


According to him, Angola and Congo Brazzaville defined in the border zone a joint exploration area that will produce oil, whose benefits will be allocated to both countries.

 


Botelho de Vasconcelos said that the implementation of the referred accord will produce positive effects in the country and international level.

 


The Angolan delegation is comprised by Vice-minister of Interior, Ângelo Viegas and Secretary if State for Foreign Affairs, Manuel Augusto.
