Angola attends China-Africa cooperation forum


 

Beijing - Angola participates since Thursday in Beijing, China, in the fifth Ministerial Conference on China-Africa Cooperation Forum, with a delegation led by Planning minister, Ana Dias Lourenço.


The opening forum was made by the Chinese President, Hu Jintao, who at the time announced funding for Africa, estimated at USD 20 billion for over the next three years.


The Chinese leader said that these funds will enhance investments in Africa and can be used to build infrastructure in areas of economic and social activity on the continent.

 
The conference is attended by UN General Secretary, Ban Kim-moon, presidents of Cape Verde, Benin, Niger, South Africa, Djibouti and several heads of government.


The Angolan Planning minister will deliver a speech at the conference in Beijing. Ana Dias Lourenço is accompanied by the State secretary for Cooperation, Exalgina Gamboa.

 
Speeches by the UN secretary general, South African and Beninese leaders and the representative of the Egyptian president were already addressed at the conference.


The need for partnerships in the areas of agriculture, science and technology was also highlighted.
