Luanda – The Angolan minister of Geology, Mining and Industry, Joaquim David, returned home on Thursday, after attending the International Mining Conference in South Africa from February 06-09.
The conference had the participation of about 100 exhibitors from all continents and 6,500 professionals linked to mining production in the world.
In South Africa, minister Joaquim David said Angola has the potential to re-launch the sector and informed the participants about the priority the country gives to the production of iron, gold, cooper, zinc and phosphate, as a way of developing the national economy.
Joaquim David also told the conference about the National Geology Plan that will lead to a deeper knowledge of the country's geological power and make a long term programme to find other minerals.
