Luanda – The World Consumer Rights Day will be celebrated Tuesday, 15 March. On 15 March 1962, the former US president, John F Kennedy, gave an address to the US congress in which he formally addressed the issue of consumer rights.
However, the consumer movement now marks 15 March every year as a means of raising global awareness about consumer rights.
The impact of the message was also extensive to the world on the defence of the right to safety or protection against trading of goods that are dangerous to health and life.
In recognition of the date, the Angolan Government set up, on July 25, 1997, the National Institute for Protection of Consumer (Inadec), tasked, among others, with implementing the Government policy in terms of consumer rights.
