Luanda – The Brazilian minister of Development, Industry and External Trade, Fernando Pimentel, said Wednesday in Luanda that his country wants to continue to be an active partner in the development of Angola, in particular, and Africa in general.
Speaking at the opening of the third edition of the exhibition dubbed "Brasil Casas Design", Fernando Pimentel said there are strong ties and friendship between Angolans and Brazilians.
According to him, the friendship ties solidify the bilateral co-operation in areas like the economy, trade, science and technology.
According to the minister, the exhibition, which was organised by the Brazilian Agency for Promoting Exports and Investments (Apex Brazil) and the south American country’s embassy in Angola, can be seen as the first result of president Dilma Roussef’s decision, who defined the Angola market as a priority in the commercial relations with Africa.
On her turn, the Brazilian ambassador to Angola, Ana Cabral, has announced that her country is to import from Africa, in 2011, goods and services estimated at USD 15 billion.
Ana Cabral said so when speaking about the levels of co-operation of Brazil with the African continent, just after the opening of the mentioned houses and designs exhibition.
According to the Brazilian diplomat, the expectations of sales from her country to Africa, for the next three years, indicate a growth of about 23.4 per cent.
The "Brasil Casa Design" display, happening in Luanda, is exhibiting photographs of houses designs.
