Welwitschia Mirabilis is one of the greatest marvellous plants produced by the nature, one of the greatest discoveries of the 19th century.
Its day is celebrated on September 3, when it was discovered in 1859 by the Austrian botanic explorer, Frederich A. Welwitschia.
The plant can only be found on the desert regions of Africa.
It has been protected under the London International Conference of November 8, 1933 and formally became part of the world flora 145 years ago.
