Luanda – A Vietnamese multi-sectoral delegation is expected in November this year in Luanda, for contacts with local economic operators, as part of existing cooperation between the two countries.
The information was released on Tuesday in Luanda by the Vietnamese ambassador to Angola, Pham Tien Nhien, who added that during its stay in the country, the delegation will attend a session of the joint cooperation commission, on November 15.
The delegation will include the ministers of Planning and Foreign Investment, Commerce and Industry, Finance, Agriculture and Rural Development, External Relations and Public Security, the diplomat told Angop.
According to the source, the Angolan side will also come up with new strategies intended to reinforce economic relations and identify other areas for investment, with a view to the country’s economic growth.
Pham Tien Nhien stated his country is seeking a reciprocal advantage cooperation with Angola, adding that the existing and future accords are intended to boost the country’s development.
He stated that Vietnam has an external policy that focuses on aid to Africa, where Angola stands atop, thanks to the long existing friendship between the two countries.
Pham Tien Nhien said his country has projects in the domains of agriculture and construction to contribute to programmes against famine and poverty, food security and housing, designed by Angolan Government.
He said Vietnam is seeking a reciprocal investment protection and tax exemption accord in trade, including a cooperation with Angola in the sectors of science and technology, oil, industry, investment, health, education, rural development, public security and others.
According to the diplomat, trade between the two countries reached about Usd 60 million in 2009, against Usd 156 million of the previous year.
